Duns Presbytery We are part of the Duns Presbytery, one of 43 presbyteries in Scotland; there are also Presbyteries for England, for Europe and for Jerusalem. Under a presbyterian model each local congregation has its own Kirk Session, while at district level there are Presbyteries and at national level the General Assembly.

Churches Together in Berwick-upon-Tweed (CTB) Residents and visitors alike enjoy a choice of places to worship in different styles but fundamental to them all is a belief in and commitment to Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord according to the scriptures. We therefore seek, through CTB, to fulfil our common calling to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Try Praying (There is hope) This reflex – the desire to reach out to God – is basic to many, many people. Trypraying is a resource for people like that: no church connection or interest, but open to find out about God. The trypraying booklet is a 7-day prayer guide and is now being used by many to pass on to friends and family with a few words of encouragement – ‘Why don’t you try praying for a week and see what happens in your life?’

Berwick upon Tweed Record Office Records for the church, including the baptism registers, from 1771 to 1920 and marriages, 1838 to 1920 are kept at the Berwick Record Office. The Office is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9.30 to 1.00 and 2.00 to 5.00. The records have been transcribed and so an appointment isn't necessary. For further information on the church records and other Family History resources for the area, please contact Linda Bankier onlbankier@woodhorn.org.uk or telephone : 01289 301865.
