Sunday Club

Sunday Club

During term time, our younger members stay with the congregation for the beginning of the morning service in Berwick-upon-Tweed, joining in with the hymns and prayers and listening to the childrens' address.

They then leave the adults and meet together in a separate room to hear a biblical story, following which they will use various arts and crafts materials to create images reflecting the story.

The dates when the Sunday Club will be meeting up to the summer are: 10th & 24th March; 28th April; 12th & 26th May; 9th & 23rd June; 14th July.

On the 14th April, there is no Sunday Club, but there will be, on that date, an all-age 'Fun, Faith and Friendship' afternoon from 4-6pm, featuring games, crafts, stories and food for all ages.

The Sunday Club is always on the lookout for those who might like to get involved in teaching our youngsters. Teachers are supported in their work through being part of a rota and they use tailored teaching resources. If you are interested, please have a word with the minister in the first instance. (AH)

CHRISTMAS 2015: Sunday 20th December, Family Service

The youngsters had put together a small drama comparing today's Christian message with that of 2000 years ago and showing how the influence of Jesus Christ and the power of prayer continues to amaze. The story was narrated by a doubter and one of God's angel messengers.

For the contemporary story, they envisaged a situation in recently earthquake torn Nepal with an ill mother and worried daughter who had no money for medicine or food. Prayer allowed the mother to regain her health and Christian giving gave her something to start her back on the road to financial recovery by turning one pig into 6 months worth a food and growing livestock.
